Who is Doodle, you ask? Doodle is one of the four lambs (sheep) who make up the McLamby family. He lives in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, and this is his blog. That's right; life from a lamb's point of view. Doodle, and his brother Snowball, were orphaned lambs and raised on bottles...first in the garage and backyard of their people ("Dad" and "Mom")...then out in the big field with their "Uncles" Rosebud and Shermy, two big Cheviot sheep who are also...er...pet sheep. Sometimes it's just fine for someone to have no other purpose in life but to live and be one of God's creatures. That's Doodle, Snowball, Rosebud, and Shermy. Welcome to their world!

Family Days, and Learning

The best times were when Mom and Dad would spend lots of time just being with us.  We were "big" lambs in the field now, but really, we were still little.  And we were little inside, too.  And the Uncles were so big!

But it was easy to go off, learning to eat green stuff, when you knew Mom and Dad were nearby.

We were about 2 months old in these pictures.  And like baby people, baby lambs have to learn stuff.  Not everything just comes naturally.  We had to find out what was good to eat, and what was not.  And sometimes Mom and Dad had to make sure we didn't eat certain stuff.  They said it was bad for us.  And we had to practice eating, too.

Practicing eating is still one of my favorite pastimes.  Actually, I like to do real eating, not practice!

Mom would stand in the field with us, or sit in the grass, and watch over us.

And here's Snowball, going off 'sploring.

Here he is, coming back from 'sploring.

Here I am, practicing eating.

Chomp. Chomp. Chomp.
I'm a happy Doodle!
