Who is Doodle, you ask? Doodle is one of the four lambs (sheep) who make up the McLamby family. He lives in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, and this is his blog. That's right; life from a lamb's point of view. Doodle, and his brother Snowball, were orphaned lambs and raised on bottles...first in the garage and backyard of their people ("Dad" and "Mom")...then out in the big field with their "Uncles" Rosebud and Shermy, two big Cheviot sheep who are also...er...pet sheep. Sometimes it's just fine for someone to have no other purpose in life but to live and be one of God's creatures. That's Doodle, Snowball, Rosebud, and Shermy. Welcome to their world!

Happy Wanderers

We're followin' Dad.  This is one of the many times when we sing our wandering song:
We don't know where we're goin', but we're goin' anyway...
We go wandering with Mom and Dad almost every day.  Lots of times we go off for tramps through a big field or a wood or along a creek or down the lane.  One time, there was a man doing some gardening nearby, and Dad overheard him say
"Walking his sheep?!"
(in that snotty sort of snide British half questioning half showing contempt way, with raised eyebrows and sniffs)

Anyway, today it turned out we weren't going very far!  Dad picked up the chairs, and took us over to a nice sunny spot on a hill nearby.

Then... we got cookies!
We don't know where we're goin' but we're goin' anyway... we don't know where we're goin' but we're goin' anyway...
Everybody sing!

I used to try to make Punkin walk with me. I'd hook his leash on, DRAG him down the road, coaxing all the way and he was always WAY TOO TIRED...until we turned around and headed home ;-).
