Who is Doodle, you ask? Doodle is one of the four lambs (sheep) who make up the McLamby family. He lives in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, and this is his blog. That's right; life from a lamb's point of view. Doodle, and his brother Snowball, were orphaned lambs and raised on bottles...first in the garage and backyard of their people ("Dad" and "Mom")...then out in the big field with their "Uncles" Rosebud and Shermy, two big Cheviot sheep who are also...er...pet sheep. Sometimes it's just fine for someone to have no other purpose in life but to live and be one of God's creatures. That's Doodle, Snowball, Rosebud, and Shermy. Welcome to their world!

Poor Ol' Shermy

Poor Ol' Shermy.  Sometimes he gets the short end of the stick.  See, he's kind of like the annoying kid at school (he would say this is Snowball, not him).  And, he's a pocket biter.  Always looking for cookies.

But really, he's a nice Shermy.  And we all have to remember where he came from.  His first 6 months were a bit rough, we think.  After all, he came from a large farm where he was chased by dogs and yelled at by men and scared by quad bikes and things.  So, really, he's come a long way.

It took about 2 1/2 years before he would let anyone pet him.  Now, he loves to be scritched and he will stand still for ages if you keep on petting him.

And to be honest, Shermy usually has the best wool of anyone.  Of course, it's hard to tell about us little guys, 'cause this was the first year they took our wool coats off.  But we'll let Shermy have the honors for now.

What a Shermy he is!
