Who is Doodle, you ask? Doodle is one of the four lambs (sheep) who make up the McLamby family. He lives in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, and this is his blog. That's right; life from a lamb's point of view. Doodle, and his brother Snowball, were orphaned lambs and raised on bottles...first in the garage and backyard of their people ("Dad" and "Mom")...then out in the big field with their "Uncles" Rosebud and Shermy, two big Cheviot sheep who are also...er...pet sheep. Sometimes it's just fine for someone to have no other purpose in life but to live and be one of God's creatures. That's Doodle, Snowball, Rosebud, and Shermy. Welcome to their world!

Look at Snowball! He's at it again. Mr Trouble! And just how did he get in there, anyway?
I would like to get in there, too, but as you can see, this dining car only serves one at a time.
I am busy trying to figure out how I can get at that hay.
HA! Now who's the smart one? They laugh at me and say I can't fit in the dining car and I am too big to jump in like the "gazelle". Well, I'll just wait for my food to come to me!
And here we see Dad, having to scold Snowball and get him to go back to the dining compartment or leave this car altogether!
Chomp. Chomp. Chomp.
I'm a pretty smart Doodle, actually!

Here we see Snowball standing up tall, like a goat, on a fence post. I am watching and learning!
I say, "Show me exactly how you put your feet, Snowball."
Uncle Bud is just watching.
Bud is not a climber.
Snowball and I are BOTH climbers!
Now we see Snowball telling me secrets, and I'm listening.
I can be a tall Doodle, too, and climb up on fence posts. We can even both climb up on fence wire and now, we can be taller than Mom!

Look at Snowball having a heart-to-heart with Mom. We have lots of these times. Mom and Dad always tell us how good we are and what special lambs we are. We usually get scritches and cookies. And we make lots of eye contact.
It's nice having a family who cares!

Here we see me again, in the car, headed for a cookie.
And here we see Snowball doing the same thing!
Look how long the line is at this drive in!
We McLambies recommend it highly!

Here we see me, smiling at you!
I'll smile even bigger, and crawl right in your lap, if you have a cookie for me.
Er...don't look at the muddy hoof-prints on Mom's coat.
Just look at the Happy Smiling Doodle!

Here I am asking Dad for a cookie. See how patient I am?
And here I am saying, "No Snowball, you go first. I will wait for my cookie."
(Whaddya mean you don't believe I said that? I DID!)
And here I am standing up so Dad can reach me better!
And I said "Thank you" too!
I'm a gentledoodle.

Here we see Snowball at our old hayrack.
Eating and drinking are very important to lambies.
But we are very fortunate lambies because no one is trying to "fatten us up."
Look! Uncle Shermy has joined him for a bite to eat.
And here we see me, joining in on the left side. Never mind about the dirt on my bottom!
Uncle Shermy used to like the end piece.
Now it's Uncle Bud eating with us. And I'm having the end piece. See the ears behind? They belong to Uncle Shermy.
Hey! Where did I go? Now Snowball is having the end piece. Uncle Bud and Uncle Shermy are still munching away.
And then, I like to finish off with a good, long, cool drink!
I love wattah!
SLURP SLURP SLURP!
Everyone should be sure to eat and drink regularly...but not to fatten up!

Here we see Uncle Bud. Mom says we should remember that Uncle Bud is the reason we have a home. Gee. I never thought about that.
Uncle Bud was Mom's first lamby. He paved the way for the rest of us!
Good ol' Uncle Bud. He's a good guy, and doesn't he still have his baby face? Mom thinks so.
I want you to know, if I see that little Pipsqueak trying to antagonize Uncle Bud, even through the fence, I get right in the middle and break it up! I'm a good Doodle.
Uncle Bud is like a big teddy bear, really. And he has a very gentle nature.
He has BIG EYES, too!
And he can be very expressive.
Uncle Rosebud is a very nice lamb ~ all sweet and gentle and cuddly.
We don't know why Baby Snowball has taken such a violent dislike to him.
Mom and Dad have made sure we're all living peaceably, so I guess that's the best we can do.
I like Uncle Rosebud.

Here we see Snowball. He's looking at something. See how his ears are pointed forward? He's very interested!
He's still looking. He looks kinda perplexed. I wonder why?
Rosebud's looking, too. But he's looking at something else.
What is Snowball looking at??
Why, it's me! Doodle! I'm trying to fly, as you can see by my ears.
I suppose a flying lamb would be interesting to look at! Of course, I am frequently ALMOST flying, 'cause of my ears.
Or maybe Snowball has just never seen such a fascinating lamb before.

It's Dad! We love family time. Everyone is always so excited, every single day. You will notice who is in front. Sigh. As usual. And look who is in back, with his tail up! ME! And they wonder why I try to barge through when I can.
It's nice to be part of a family (even though half our family has to live in another field now, thanks to you know who).
Lots of lambies are afraid of people.
Whose fault do you think that is?
Not the lambies' fault, anyway.
God meant us all to get along.
Please be kind to animals!

Look! It's me and Snowball. We're eating out. Just someplace along the road we found.
Shermy's eating out, too. He's at the Stardust Roadside Cafe.
I think it's an All-You-Can-Eat place!
Snowball likes the salad bar the best.
Hey? A guy! It's Dad. Maybe this place is also a truck stop!
I'm still looking at the menu.
I found what I wanted to eat!
Roadside diners are the best!
